II'm not a guru. I didn't quit my job and "discover freedom" overnight. Honestly, I'm still working three jobs right now. I'm an office manager during the week, bartending on weekends, and cooking one night a week, all while I build something of my own on the side.
I grew up an only child in a tiny town in Nebraska, and I've called Minnesota home since 2003. For most of my life, "work hard, keep your head down" was just how it was. I spent two decades at one company before I ever thought there might be another way to live.
I've always had a taste of travel, and when I went to Alaska, it cracked something open in me. I wanted more of that. Not someday. Not "when I retire." Now!
So I started building. Slowly. Clumsily, some days. I'm learning as I go, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise because I think that's exactly why some of you will relate to me. I'm not talking down from some finish line I already crossed. I'm in it, same as you, grinding through the day job(s) and carving out time at night to build something that might actually change things.
This page is me documenting that climb the wins, the slow weeks, the "why am I so tired" nights, all of it. If you're working hard for everyone else right now and wondering if there's another way, you're exactly who I'm talking to.
